Hair by Emma Short. Emma used her NVQ level 2 Hairdressing Qualification to find work in Australia. Emma now works for prestigious Maurice Mead salon in Perth Australia and has created a portfolio of beautiful hairdressing through Perth Modelling Academy and enjoyed success working on Home and Away and News presenters for Perth television.

NVQ Level 2 Diploma in Hair

The Academy is able to offer a Level 2 Diploma for Hairdressing Apprentices.

This is a day release programme which lasts up to 24 months.

You will be at The Academy for one day a week and the rest of the week working in a salon.

Mandatory Units covered:

  • Consultation
  • Shampoo, condition and treat the hair and scalp hair
  • Cut hair using a range of techniques to create a variety of looks
  • Style and finish hair using a range of techniques to create a variety of looks
  • Colour and lighten hair using a range of techniques

 

To be accepted onto this course, you normally are required to have:

  • A minimum of 3 D’s but C’s or above are preferred
  • A VRQ in hair or beauty or other related qualifications
  • A strong commitment to working in the industry

You will have to provide stationery equipment and buy a full kit, and uniform. Any specialist equipment will be provided by The Academy.

You will be assessed throughout the course by building a portfolio of evidence. To gain the full NVQ all nine units need to be completed. You may be asked to bring clients in for practical assessments.
