Emma now works for prestigious Maurice Mead salon in Perth Australia and has created a portfolio of beautiful hairdressing through Perth Modelling Academy and enjoyed success working on Home and Away and News presenters for Perth television.

NVQ / Diploma Level 2 hairdressing

This qualification is suitable for those who want to work in the hairdressing industry and is highly valued by employers.

 Learners will develop knowledge and understanding and skills to advise and consult and then provide a hairdressing service. We carry out assessments as you progress which requires you to work on paying clients in-line with commercial service times.

You will be able to join professional associations and gain insurance to work.

  • Advise and consult with clients
  • Set and dress hair
  • Style and finish hair
  • Shampoo and condition hair
  • Cut hair using basic techniques
  • Colour and lighten hair
  • Teamwork

 

 

 

To be accepted onto this course, you normally are required to have:

  • A minimum of 3 D’s but C’s or above are preferred
  • A VRQ in hair or beauty or other related qualifications
  • A strong commitment to working in the industry

You will have to provide stationery equipment and buy a full kit, and uniform. Any specialist equipment will be provided by The Academy.

You will be assessed throughout the course by building a portfolio of evidence. To gain the full NVQ all nine units need to be completed. You may be asked to bring clients in for practical assessments.
